9月24日（土）にグレープカップコンテストへ参加しました。
このコンテストは福岡女学院短期大学主催の、英語の暗唱大会です。
九州各地から17名の高校生が参加する中で、看護科2年B組の吉田優香さんが優勝しました。
難しい課題文でしたが、表情やボディーランゲージといったあらゆる手段を考え、表現した結果だと思います。
以下、審査員と吉田さんのコメントです。
【審査員コメント】
Congratulations from Fukuoka Jo Gakuin University Junior College on Yuka Yoshida's victory in the recent 49th Annual Grape Cup Contest held on Saturday, September 24th.
Here is a digest of the comments from our three judges;
Yuka had a strong voice, the right "attitude" and emotion for the contest piece. Her stage presence made for an enjoyable performance not only to listen to, but also to watch. She used lots of gestures, facial expressions, mixed intonation, and stress patterns. There was a feeling she was talking to the audience rather than just speaking from memory which few speakers can/could do. Lastly, Yuka's whispering near the end really made her presentation stand out.

第49回グレープカップコンテストでの優勝おめでとうございます。
審査員3名からのコメントをお伝えします。
優香さんの声は力強く、コンテストに対する態度と思いも素晴らしかったです。彼女のステージでの存在感は聞く楽しさだけでなく、見る楽しさもありました。多くのジェスチャーと表情、複雑なイントネーション、音の強弱を使いこなし、「覚えたことを話す」というよりは、「会場にいる人たちへ伝えたい」という気持ちが現れていました。最後に、発表終盤での「囁き」は、彼女の発表を際立たせる素晴らしいものでした。
【吉田優香コメント】
I am proud of being the winner as Ariake high school student for the first time.
Although I said "I've decided to try this contest, I want to be a winner." to my teacher at the time of my first practice, I never thought that I can make it come true.
I would like to appreciate the Grape Cup Contest for giving me an opportunity to brush up English skills. Furthermore, I thank to my parents and friends who became my gasoline ,audience and judge who became my passengers, and more than anything, my teacher who became my wing.

有明高校の生徒として最初の優勝者になれたことを誇りに思います。
最初の練習の時に「参加するには優勝したい」と先生に伝えましたが、まさか叶えられるとは思っていませんでした。
英語を上達させる機会をくれたグレープカップコンテストに感謝します。また、私の動力になってくれた両親と友人、私の乗客となってくれた観客と審査員、そして何より、私の翼となってくれた先生にも感謝しています。
